Efficient 3D processing of non-vector data
Optimize your data by easily integrating point clouds, digital terrain models, raster files and other data types into your infrastructure projects. You maximize project data while improving productivity, resulting in a better return on investment.
- Dot clouds
- digital terrain models
- raster files
- Phototextured meshes
- …
With Descartes You can expand your capacity for even more rewarding reality modelling, whatever the scale, thanks to the possibilities of:
- Visualisation and manipulation of the display
- Combination of your models with CAD, BIM and GIS data from MicroStation, OpenBuildings Designer, Bentley Map, OpenRoads,…
- Extracting information such as field models, phototextured meshes,...
- Modification and correction of reality modelling data from ContextCapture.
Most infrastructure projects require the conversion of existing documents as well as the use of images and cloud points. Bentley Descartes allows you to integrate all imaging into engineering workflows to improve the overall quality of your project.
You benefit from the ability to:
- Work with all types of data, of all sizes, in a single product
- Use modeling, clipping and cutting performance tools to create 3D models of real conditions.
- Streamline a cloud of points and a geometric conversion
- Create hybrid models by combining engineering models with enriched, segmented and graded point clouds
- Create animations and renderings for presentations
The software, in addition to its great imaging capabilities, guarantees you a perfect integration with ProjectWise. This integration generates streaming that allows you to work with very large files. Use of ProjectWise reduces the risk of mismanagement of your data and allows you to maintain the integrity of your records.
Features of Descartes
Visualize, manipulate and edit reality modelling data
- View and edit cloud points containing a billion points, while changing their classification, colour, and removing or modifying points. Manipulate the meshes of reality and evolutionary terrain models with hundreds of millions of triangles. Import, retouch and export meshes in many formats.
Integrate data from multiple sources with reality grids
- Enrich your meshes with reality by adding data, such as geospatial information, from several sources in the meshes of reality, and attaching them to a specific part of the mesh. This gives you the ability to search and visualize mesh areas based on these associated data.
Create geometric models from reality modelling
- Extract breaklines, surfaces, levels, cylinders, as well as central cylinder lines from reality meshes or point clouds. Attach or separate a dot cloud and mesh to obtain vector data.
Create evolutionary terrain models
- Use and display very large field models to increase your return on investment in large data sets. Display evolutionary terrain models in different modes: smooth shade with shadows, inclination and angle, height, elevation, contours, etc. Sync your field models with your source data such as DGN files, cloud data, etc.
Convert raster documents to vector drawings
- Keep and exploit your scanned documents and drawings. Work with hybrid processes using raster and vector editing, cleaning and processing tools to vectorize existing documents.
Treat images raster
- Raster processing adds visualization and context to your infrastructure projects. You can instantly edit raster data to improve the quality of your project. Reduce data maintenance costs by using existing raster drawings in your workflows.
Create animations, videos and overviews
- Create spell projections and high-definition perspective images by making instant renderings of all sizes. Define size and scale using rules, scales and output positioning for reliable reuse. Take advantage of the possibility of a time overview and an animation system of objects to create a film easily and quickly.
Create high fidelity images
- High fidelity imaging tools allow high precision mapping and engineering. You can combine images in almost all formats and projections.
