Could not edit/modify an item by the Edit Properties dialog box or from the Nomenclatures dialog box
Problem description
I can't edit/modify an item using the dialog box Edit Properties or dialog box Planning. How can I solve this problem?
Resolution
1. When you fail to modify items, first check that the DataGroup instance name assigned to this item is present in the OpenBuildings Designer Active configuration. If this is not the case, then you will have to reallocate data from DataGroup to those available in the OpenBuildings Designer configuration or determine why the data from applied instance is missing from the configuration.
2. If the DataGroup instance is already available but you still cannot edit/modify, select this item and access its Properties dialog box and confirm in the Expand tab if the item is locked or unlocked.
On the above image we can see that the element is locked, so we can't change it. Try unlocking the item by clicking on the drop-down menu and change the option to Unlock.
Once you have changed the status of the element, you should be able to change this element.
3. This may also be due to the level of this locked element and at that time, the modification of any element present on that level is impossible.
In the image above, you can see that the level associated with the element is locked, so click on the lock icon will unlock the level. Once unlocked, you should be able to make changes.
