Difference between connecting points and control points in iTwin Capture Modeler
Question
What is the difference between focal points and checkpoints in iTwin Capture Modeler ?
Answer:
One liaison point corresponds to the pixels of two or more different photographs. These pixels represent the projection of the same physical point in the scene. iTwin Capture Modeler can automatically generate a large number of automatic connecting points during the aerotriangulation process.
User attachment points can also be entered a priori from a dedicated interface to help with aerotriangulation.
The checkpoints are optional positioning data that are used during block aerotriangulation. The addition of control points to a block allows for accurate georeference and avoids long-range metric distortions.
The liaison points and checkpoints may be advantageously materialised on the ground in the form of QR codes For example. iTwin Capture Modeler automatically identifies them and then assists in scaling or georeferencing the model.
