Background

In rare cases, such as after a power outage from a workstation or application crash or a problem getting RSS feeds, OpenBuildings Designer may refuse to start properly. In these cases, the reset of OpenBuildings Designer to its default settings can solve the problem.

Steps to follow

From Run or Search Windows command
1. From the button "Start" from Windows, type "execute" and press Enter

2. Go to OpenBuildingsDesigner.exe (default location "C:Program FilesBentleyOpenBuildings CONNECT EditionOpenBuildingsDesignerOpenBuildingsDesigner.exe") and copy the way

3. Paste the path in Run and place a space after the "...OpenBuildingsDesigner.exe"and type"-restoredefaults“

NOTE: The full path to OpenBuildingsDesigner.exe is between quotes. Place a space AFTER the quotes, then type -restoredefaults.

4. Press any key to exit.

Note : The same steps can be done for all applications (MicroStation, OpenRoads,...): the name and location of the .exe file will be different. For MicroStation it would be: "C:Program FilesBentleyMicroStation CONNECT EditionMicroStationmicrostation.exe“
