How to save and restore user preferences in MicroStation V8i
Prerequisite
MicroStation stores user preferences settings in a file called « User preference file », also referred to as : « .UPF ». In certain circumstances, such as the relocation of the same version of MicroStation After updating the operating system on your workstation, it may be useful to restore all your user preferences without having to manually reset them all.
Keep in mind that file « .UPF » should never be transferred to a more recent version of MicroStation (after upgrading), unpredictable behaviour could occur. It is therefore preferable to recreate its configuration.
